Curlew is a beautiful example of the ocean worthy Mason 33, little sister of the well-known, world-cruising Mason 43. She was built in 1986 by the renowned Ta Shing yard in Taiwan. Her graceful lines draw attention in every anchorage and her inviting teak interior make her a pleasure to sail and live aboard. She is ready for many more years of voyaging near and far.
Curlew is Hull #21 of 23 built. She measures 33' 9" LOA, with a 10' 10" beam, and a draft of 5' 0". Her long keel is cut away at the forefoot, reducing her wetted surface area and improving maneuverability, without any loss of directional stability. She has a medium-heavy displacement hull with a comfortable motion. Her displacement is 14,000 lbs.
Her cockpit is deep and secure in all weathers. The seats are long enough to stretch out on and even sleep under the stars. There are voluminous lockers port and starboard with a separate, vented locker aft for propane bottle and dingy fuel.
After 10 years of sailing their local Martha's Vineyard waters and the coastline from the Chesapeake Bay to Maine, the owners are now transitioning to the next phase of their lives.
